Romans 1:12 - Mutual Faith Bookmark

Romans 1:12

"that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other's faith, both yours and mine." (NASB)

"That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me." (KJV)

"When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours." (NLT)

A Common Faith

"There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism," (Eph 4:5 NLT)

"I am writing to Titus, my true son in the faith that we share.  May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior give you grace and peace." (Titus 1:4 NLT)

"Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share.  But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to His holy people." (Jude 1:3 NLT)

"The grace of faith is the same in all the saints, and so is the doctrine of it, as dispensed by Christ's faithful ministers, and experimentally received and embraced by his people; the consideration of which has a very great influence on the comfort and establishment of each other; nor are any so perfect, but they may receive benefit from others, even though inferior to them." Dr. John Gill (1690-1771)

We enjoy comfort from our common faith.  We bring comfort to others and at the same time receive comfort.  It is the fullness of this faith we share in Christ Jesus that is mutual by design because we are all part of the body with Christ as the head.  We are mutually blessed by Christ and each other.  How cool is that?  Way cool.

Thanks Dear Heavenly Father for your design of the faith wherein I walk.  Help me to appreciate my dear brothers and sisters in Christ in a new and special way today that I may both enjoy and impart a blessing.  Soli Deo Gloria (For the Glory of God Alone)
